This directive was established by the EU (European Union) with the aim of eliminating hazardous substances from electrical and electronic equipment. The objectives are to facilitate recycling and to ensure that final disposal by landfill or incineration does not negatively affect people or the environment.
It is called RoHS, derived from the initials of Restriction of Hazardous Substances.

The following 10 substances are restricted under RoHS regulations:

However, the use of lead is permitted under the following conditions:
・ Lead contained in aluminum alloys: up to 4,000 ppm
・ Lead contained in copper alloys: up to 40,000 ppm
・ Lead contained in steel: up to 3,500 ppm

REACH is an EU regulation concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals. Its objectives are to ensure a high level of protection for human health and the environment, secure the free circulation of substances within the EU market, and strengthen the competitiveness and innovation of the EU chemical industry.
Without compliance with REACH requirements, manufacturing, marketing, or use of chemicals within the EU is not permitted. Even for companies outside the EU, if finished products containing chemicals are exported to the EU, compliance with REACH may be required.
For our standard stock items, we request manufacturers to issue certificates regarding the presence or absence of SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) listed in Article 57 of the REACH Regulation.

An SDS is a document provided when supplying or transferring products containing potentially hazardous chemicals to other businesses. It contains detailed information on the properties and handling of the substances.
SDS stands for Safety Data Sheet. In Japan, it was previously called MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), but since April 2012 it has been standardized to SDS in accordance with the UN’s GHS (Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals).
※ For certificates other than those mentioned above, please contact our dedicated support desk.
※ The certificate format will follow that of our suppliers. If you require a customer-specific format, please note that additional time may be required for submission, and in some cases, we may not be able to comply.
